Food Paradize

Food Paradize is simply a summed up recommended experience to go-to with your friends, family & loved ones but do note that all of the below is practically !!NON-HALAL!!
(the Yong Tau Foo section might be HALAL at some places......... Not sure 'bout that either...)

STEAMBOAT for Family, Friends & Lovers! Plus-One Shabu Shabu! I love this place… Their winter-melon with chestnut (i think) drink is just at its right sweetness and it costs (RM10) for a plastic jug (like in the picture above on the left)… I love their set lunch but the portion for the meat is cut in half!! So you can save money through their set or pay slightly more for more meat on your plate. Every steamboat set is made for individual though… You can even order 1 set and share! If you’re saving money and a small eater… I recommend the PORK SLICE SET (RM 20++) also I recommend the PORK RIB with CORN soup! Because if you let it cook for awhile, PORK RIB is practically the bones and boiling soup with it in it plus corn actually makes your soup sweeter in the must natural way possible!!
Ps. They even have a wiiidddeee variety of sauces to go for, TAKE IT!

The PORK Place @ IOI Boulevard
I lurrveee this place… The menu has like only a handful of main course meals and they have limited soft drinks and juices but unlimited German-Wheat Beer! Go for the German beer that has descriptions of quite a number of tropical fruits? but it tastes better and has much nicer aroma that blends in nicely with the meals. I love their weekend specials “Pork Ribs” in the image above… Their Curry Spaghetti was tasty enough too with pork cubes in it. However, their “Pork Ribs” sell-out FAST! But you can try out the “Sirlion” instead or “Ribeye” because they’re the similar way of cooking, I bet its the sauce but their meat is oh-so-fresh-and-juicy…
Note : All main course meals served here are PORK related only.

Taman Connaught Pasar Malam!! I love Pasar Malam’s!! There’s food, food and FOOD!! I recommend the fried sausage at those “Uncle Bob Fried Chicken” look-a-like stalls. The Curry fish ball is interesting but I still prefer Hong Kong’s 7eleven curry fishballs… They have this special “Prawn cracker Rojak”, it was featured on tv “Ho Chak” but… I don’t like… Toooooo sweeeeettt the sauce… The otak-otak is just for fun, long time didn’t eat but I still prefer my NaNa’s own recipe! The all-time famous at this Pasar Malam is the “Chow Tofu” aka Smelly Tofu… There’s a theory for this, the smellier it is the better it is… But this “Chow Tofu”, it stinks… You feel like vomiting when you put it in your mouth but start chewing and you’ll start to grow on it actually… But it still stinks. Then again, I prefer Hong Kong’s “Chow Tofu” found at Ladies Street, HK. It doesn’t stink bad and when you eat it, you don’t taste nor smell the stinkiness much! Love it!

This restaurant is located in the suburban area in Cheras. It'’s a very traditional restaurant that is passed down through generations of the Yap family. They have many all-time known dishes worth recognizing. I didn’t snap pictures… too…hungry… But they have a menu no worry… I think their best is the “Prawn with Salted Egg”, Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs, Hakka style Pig Knuckles, Steamed Fish & Steamed Kampung Chicken. What’s so special is this restaurant used Hakka style cookign methods for generations. So worth the try!

What’s cool about this restaurant is that it is newly open in Newly renovated Old Wing One Utama and you order and pay before you enter and have a seat.

This is where they make all their meals…

Once you’ve paid and gotten the receipt and number, you find a seat inside and look out for your number to flash on their ticket counter. Cool-huh?!

Their food is just nice and it’s not too costly, they have set menus and specials occasionally. This restaurant is part of the Dragon-i group and I for one am a fan of Dragon-i Smile

Rich Pot Buffet Steamboat & Teppanyaki Buffet Dinner + Free Flow of Drinks (normal price RM26.20) I bought it online via Groupon.my at a discounted price around RM15?? Anyway, this is an “okay” restaurant. Good enough to fill your tummy and for families and friends to gather. The steamboat is all-you-can-eat buffet style, lots of variety but the way they marinated their meat ain’t too appetizing… The soup is too ordinary… Very plain and simple I may add. The teppanyaki is outside and you must pick out some meat for them to grill for you with teppanyaki sauce. Overall it’s an everyday steamboat buffet restaurant with a plus of teppanyaki grill other than that is the usuals.

“Chap fan” or better known when translated, mix rice. You pick & match to your tastebuds or to your mood of the day/hour then dine-in or take-away. I recommend this mainly because of its variety and the crowd! It’s been around for over 20 years give and take a few years. But this was and still is actually my boyfriends favourite “chap fan” stall… I wasn’t a fan of it until today! Why? Because of their variety, the portion is GENEROUS and best part it’s CHEAP!! Guess how much the above two package cost? Usually in other stalls nationwide, it’ll come up to (RM6-8) per pack like the above, very subjective… But we only paid RM7 for all the above!!! Means it’s either RM3.50 per pack or RM4 + RM3… We had atleast 4 types of variety per pack in the image above and we didn’t take alot (mind you…) but the price in unbelievable!! No wonder people always crowd around the stall. This is only found in Ampang, in one of the corner chinese hawker shop along the shoplots in Ampang… My boyfriend knows where… I don’t... sorry…

Yong Tau Foo! My mum’s favourite meal… She goes crazy over it… Weird… Anyway, there’s a few places that sell awesome “Yong Tau Foo”, the all-time famous “Ampang Yong Tau Foo” at Ampang. But who would’ve thought that Puchong has a few notable shops worth mentioning.
1) Only opens at night for dinner time around dusk till sell-out, not easy to find a place to seat. Better head there early and wait. Select what you want, you can have rice, pan mee or curry mee and both their pan mee and curry mee is homecooked so it’s one of its kind and tasty! Their yong tau foo soup is marvelous! I love the fried ones because there’s enough meat in it and its HUGE!! Very generous in the portion of the meat filling and its tasty!
Locations :

1) Restaurant Puchong Yong Tau Fu
It's a corner house btw...
Puchong Yong Tau Fu Lot 105, Batu 14, Jalan Besar, Kampung Baru Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia. Opens 11 am – 930pm. Closed Mon.

2) Another place is actually 2 house away from “Restaurant Puchong Yong Tau Fu
Generous filling, huge serving and crazily tasty!!
Along Batu 14, Jalan Besar, Kampung Baru Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia.
Opens around 6pm – 10pm/sold out.

3) Ampang Yong Tau Foo, definitely a killer! Worth the visit!
Their sauce is different and its always crowded and has been the same since 10 over yrs ago and more!
(Ps. I meant “Ampang” as a location in general, you can find a few restaurants of it like Orchard View, Foong Foong, Ampang and etc… They're just around the corner hehe... I'm sure there's more...)

4) Yong Tau Foo in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Similar serving portion like the first 2 Puchong location. However, this is a more modernized restaurant with a proper menu and has other varieties. I recommend their “Curry Chee Cheong Fun” because it has a smooth texture and its not too thin nor too thick, just right. The curry is at its right flavour and it’s kinda diluted or light… I like it! Some might not like it though but it’s just right for the flavour Smile

“Lok-lok” my faaavvooouuurriiitteeee foooooddd!! Pick your favourite and dip it in the soup to boil (chicken/tom yam stock)… Then pour chilli sauce, chilli paste or peanut sauce over ya food! MMmmm yummy!! The best part is, nearby there are stalls that sells soup noodles, char kuey teow, bubble tea and cooling drinks like winter melon etc… Note that this is not a restaurant! It’s confined in a open carpark space right in the heart of Puchong IOI Boulevard area! It used to be right infront of the IOI Boulevard building along the road but that was when the building was still under renovation… So they moved to the open carpark in the center of the shoplots further down.
Location :
Turn in right from before UOB Bank,
go further in the center there's a open carpark where you can opt. to turn in to look for a carpark space.

The Meat Experts. I couldn’t agree more! They serve awesome meats and at a hundred over variety (okay I might exaggerating there but who knows hehe) We got this offer on Groupon and it was worth it. Bought the coupon for RM11 +/- or was it RM15?? Either way, it’s much affordable than the normal price. It’s like an entrĂ©e introductory price for first timers. But the atmosphere is warm and quiet. It’s located in the hearts of Sri Hartamas. You can dine-in or takeaway for parties, events or even just to stock up your fridge with authentic meat delicacies at a vast variety.
